The Course
The course skips Starter (A1), and begins at Elementary (A2) level. Students are expected to be able to read Arabic words (at Al-Qur’an level). Writing skills is not a pre-requisite.
The course consists of 3 levels, A2, B1, and B2. Each level will take 4 modules to complete. Each module is 12-16 lessons. One lesson lasts 2 hours. On top of that, students are expected to do homework and revisions every week. A free online app will be used to practice newly learnt vocabulary.
There will be revision tests for every module. Students are required to pass at least the final exam in each LEVEL to proceed to the next level.
An A1 Starter module may be offered, depending on demand, to small groups (2-4 students) for 4-8 lessons.
The reference level (A1-B2) is based of the Common European Framework for Languages (CEFR) which is widely recognized by language institutions, universities and multi-national corporations to measure a person’s ability in his non-native language.
At the end of B2 level, students have reached O level standard and MAY opt to take Arabic O level exam or the Test of Arabic as a Foreign Language (TOAFL) exam as a private candidate.
The complete duration to finish the course is at least 222 weeks, which is around 4.5 years of commitment.
After completing B2 level, students may choose to continue C1 Upper Intermediate level for about 1.5 years. The medium will be fully Arabic, and the content is geared towards Islamic and Arabic Heritage.
